All references to Sua Sponte Law, “we”, and “us” within this Privacy Policy include suaspontelaw.com, Sua Sponte Law, PLLC, and as well as all of Sua Sponte Law’s social media accounts. Sua Sponte Law’s website is a law firm website. By using Sua Sponte Law’s website, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.

Personal Information We Collect

To provide you with legal services, Sua Sponte Law may collect personally identifiable information, such as your:

  • Business Name

  • Birthday

  • Social Security Number

  • Federal Employer Identification Number

  • Mailing Address

  • Phone Number 

  • Company Information 

If you purchase Sua Sponte Law’s products and services, we collect billing and credit card information. This information is utilized to complete your purchase and provide you with legal services. However, you are not required to enter your personal information to view Sua Sponte Law’s website. 

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through Sua Sponte Law’s social media, website comments, or on any of Sua Sponte Law’s public boards or groups, this information may be collected and used by others. Sua Sponte Law is not responsible for unauthorized use of this information by third parties. 

How Your Personally Identifiable Information is Used

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use certain products or services available from Sua Sponte Law, its agents, and/or affiliates.

We also may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future. 

Sua Sponte Law collects and uses your personal information to operate its website, to perform legal services, and for marketing purposes. Sua Sponte Law may also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from Sua Sponte Law and its affiliates.

Sua Sponte Law does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties. 

Sua Sponte Law may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, provide legal services, operate its law firm, operate its email list, market its services, or arrange for deliveries. Right to Deletion 

Subject to certain exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will:

  • Delete your personal information from our records; and 

  • Direct any service providers to delete your personal information from their records. 

Please note that we may not be able to comply with requests to delete your personal information if it is necessary to:

  • Complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected, fulfill the terms of a written warranty or product recall conducted in accordance with federal law, provide a good or service requested by you, or reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform a contract between you and us; 

  • Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity (or prosecute those responsible for that activity); 

  • Debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality; 

  • Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise his or her right of free speech, or exercise another right provided for by law;

  • Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when our deletion of the information is likely to render impossible or seriously impair the achievement of such research, provided we have obtained your informed consent;

How Long We Keep Your Personal Information

We will keep your non-client personal information until you unsubscribe from our marketing or ask us to delete your personal information. If you are or have been a client, we will keep your personal information approximately one (1) year after any applicable statutes of limitations on professional liability has run. 

How We Keep Your Personal Information Secure

We have security measures in place to prevent your personal information from unauthorized use or access. Additionally, we have taken steps to deal with any suspected data breaches and will notify authorities and you of any such breaches if legally obligated to do so. 

Tracking of User Behavior

We may keep track of the websites and pages our users visit within Sua Sponte Law, to determine what Sua Sponte Law services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within Sua Sponte Law to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in particular services or products. 

Potential Automatically Collected Information

Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by Sua Sponte Law. Sua Sponte Law’s website is not intended for use by children under the age of thirteen (13). Sua Sponte Law does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. Sua Sponte Law prohibits children under the age of thirteen (13) from providing or submitting personal information on its website, social media, or other channels. Sua Sponte Law will delete any personal information which Sua Sponte Law comes to know was provided by a child under the age of thirteen (13).

If you subscribe to our email list, sign up for a consult, or engage our services, we may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and other general communications. To improve our services, website, email list, and other promotions, we may receive a notification when you open an email from us or click on a link within our emails. 

If you would like to stop receiving marketing or promotional communications via email from Sua Sponte Law, you may opt out of such communications by clicking UNSUBSCRIBE in the email that you received. If you are still receiving emails after clicking UNSUBSCRIBE please contact us. 

External Data Storage Sites 

We may store your data on servers provided by third party hosting vendors (Squarespace, Microsoft Office, Calendly, law firm software, Calendar, Google, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, Zoom video conferencing, Docusign e-signing platform, LawPay payment processing system, and others) with whom we have contracted. Any personal information entered into external data storage sites is subject to their privacy policies.  

Changes to this Statement 

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account, by placing a prominent notice on our site, and/or by updating any privacy information on this page. Your continued use of the Site and/or Services available through this Site after such modifications will constitute your: (a) acknowledgment of the modified Privacy Policy; and (b) agreement to abide and be bound by that Policy.
